SERDANG, JULy 14 - A total of 30 students of Sekolah Dato 'Abdul Razak consisting of Resource Center Supervisors (PPS) and student representatives of each level along with 4 teachers of Sekolah Dato' Abdul Razak held a visit and knowledge sharing session to the Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).
The arrival of the visiting delegation was welcomed by the Senior Deputy Chief Librarian, Ms. Haslina Abu Seman @ Talib accompanied by PSAS officials. The visit was held in conjunction with the Expansion (Community Networking) program by PSAS under the "Local Community" cluster which includes the activities of the National Reading Decade Campaign. It is in line with the Aspirations of the Vice Chancellor, UPM in 2022 to strengthen industry and community networks through knowledge development activities.
In her welcome speech, Ms. Haslina Abu Seman @ Talib said, “PSAS is very happy to receive a special guest today. This is because the visit from SDAR is the first school visit received by PSAS this year. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, PSAS received many visit requests from school students from all over the country, including visits from SDAR in 2019. ”

During the knowledge sharing session, students were given guidance on material cataloging, the use of library catalogs (webopac) and information retrieval strategies. The program was followed by a guided tour to introduce students to the facilities, collections and services available at PSAS. In particular, this program is expected to increase the understanding and knowledge of PPS on school resource center management and information literacy.

At the end of the program, students were taken to visit the Museum of Human Anatomy to provide exposure on health information and learning environment at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM.
