The Veterinary Medicine Library (VML) was set up on 29 November 1999 and is a branch of Perpustakaan Sultan Abdul Samad (PSAS). It is located at the Ground Floor and Level 1 of the Academic Block of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Complex. It has floor areas of 8000 sq ft. and has seating capacity up to 150 seats. The objective of its formation is to support learning, teaching, research and consultancy related activities of the Faculty. To date the Library has almost 18000 copies of materials in its collection which consists of books, journals, audio visual materials, theses and project papers. The Library also provides online facilities such as online catalog, access to online journals/databases and e-books. The Library will continue to give excellent services to students and members of the Faculty.

Library Collections
1. General Book Collection
The general book collection consists of textbooks, proceedings of conference, reports, books for leisure reading, etc. This collection includes materials in various subject areas.
Location: The books are located at Level 1.
2. Reference Collection
This collection consists primarily of dictionaries and encyclopedias, directories, atlases, abstracts and indexes, manuals, bibliographies, statistical reports, handbooks and almanacs.
Location : The collection is located at the Ground Floor. Books in this collection has the location symbol 'r' in the call number. Reference materials are non-circulating and are to be used in the library only.
3. Audio-Visual Materials
This collection comprises of CD-ROMs, DVD-ROMS and Diskettes.
Location : The collection is located at the Ground Floor. Requests to use them should be made at the Circulation Counter.
4. Serials Collection
There are two different categories of serials:
- Current Issues
This collection consists of the latest issues of subscribed journals, as well as those received as gifts or exchange. The materials are displayed in the Current Journals at the Ground Floor.
- Bound Issues
Bound journals are shelved according to class number at Level 1. They have the symbol 'btb' affixed on the call number.
5. Theses
This collection comprises theses and dissertations of the UPM graduate students (Master and PhD) and also theses and dissertations of the academic/non-academic UPM staff from the any Malaysia or overseas higher learning institutions. This collection has the symbol "t" on the call number.
Location : The collection is located at the Ground Floor. They are to be used strictly in the Library.
6. Project Report (Laporan Projek)
This collection comprises final year UPM students' project papers. This collection has the symbol "lp" on the call number.
Location : The collection is located at the Ground Floor. They are to be used strictly in the Library.
7. Online Databases
Subscribed Online Databases is the online databases and journals subscribed by Library which can be accessed via Library Website within UPM Campus or via EZproxy as remote access. There are about 200 online journal titles ready to be accessed at anytime. The online journals provide a wide variety of relevant information of the current issues, research and publications that assist users in completing their literature review of the thesis, project papers, assignments, and etc
8. Newspaper
The Library subscribes the following printed newspapers:
• Berita Harian
• New Straits Times
• The Star
• Utusan Malaysia
The newspapers are displayed in the Leisure Area at the Ground Floor.
