Knowledge Sharing Session Series 1/2024

Serdang, 30 January - The Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS), in an effort to advance and promote knowledge transfer, held the 1/2024 Knowledge Sharing Session series, which was attended by 105 participants from the library staff and PSAS industrial training students.

The session started with sharing by the participants of ‘Seminar Kebangsaan Pembantu Pustakawan 2023’ (SKPP 2023) which was organised by Universiti Malaysia Terengganu,  shared presentation on the National Information Literacy Agenda (NILA) and Digital Literacy in Libraries. The seminar participants were 11 library assistants from PSAS and UPM Bintulu Campus Library. Various best practices, initiatives and the latest programmes related to digital literacy were presented that helped to  provide basic understanding for the PSAS community in planning and preparing a holistic information literacy programme.

Meanwhile, three students from the Bachelor of Information Science (Honours) Library Management, Information Science Studies, College of Computing, Informatics and Mathematics, Universiti Teknologi Mara reported on their experiences after their 6-month industrial internship at PSAS. The students also exchanged views on topics related to librarianship, namely Digital Content Management, Massive Open Online Courses, Hybrid Collection, Library Promotional Activities and Inaugural Collection.

PSAS expresses its appreciation and gratitude for the commitment and contribution of the students throughout their internship at PSAS. We hope that through this kind of programme we can strengthen the collaboration between UPM and UiTM.

Mrs. Siti Sunarti Waini Osman from UPM Bintulu Campus Library shared the fundamentals of digital literacy and technology application in the Library

 

UiTM industrial training student, Miss Nur Nabihah Mazlan shared the topic of Digital Content Management

 

UiTM industrial training student, Cik Nuralia Aqilah Zainal presented on Promotional Activities in Library

 

UiTM industrial training student, Cik Nur Najiha Amyra Zamri shares the management of newspaper collections through a presentation through article review The British Library Newspaper Collections and Future Strategy
