Serdang, December 20 – Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB University), Bogor Indonesia, has organized a Webinar: Lessons Learned in Managing Webometrics held on December 20, 2023 (Wednesday) online. This webinar session has invited Mr. Muizzudin Kaspol (Head of Information Systems and Technology Division), representing the Sultan Abdul Samad Library, Universiti Putra Malaysia as one of the speakers for the sharing session. While the speaker from IPB University is Ir. Julio Adisantoso, M.Kom (Head of the Information Management and Digital Transformation Board (LMITD)).

This webinar aims to identify best practices, share tips and experiences in managing university websites that are also evaluated in the Webometrics Ranking evaluation. Webometrics is a rating system in which websites and visibility are used as indicators to measure university performance at the global level conducted by the Cybermetrics Lab (Spanish National Research Council, CSIC). In addition, this webinar is also used as a platform to share ideas and exchange views to share library information resources, especially in the field of agriculture which is a niche area for both institutions.

For the record, Universiti Putra Malaysia's position in the "Ranking of Web Universities" (Webometrics Ranking) for the July 2023 edition is 3rd in Malaysia and 474th in the world. Meanwhile, IPB University is ranked 911th in the world and ranked 6th in Indonesia.
